How to structure Question 1a and 1b

Question 1a - remember that you must talk about AS  AND  A2! Paragraph 1: This should be an introduction which explains which projects you did. It can be quite short, but should frame your response. Explain what you did, e.g. 'For my AS Foundation Portfolio, I produced a two-minute chick flick film opening and for my A2 Advanced Portfolio, I made a pop music video.' Paragraphs 2, 3, 4 and 5: You should pick up a skill area and suggest something about your starting point with it- what skills you had already and how you used them. Use examples and have some key phrases ready, such as: The ‘use of iMovie helped me understand the conventions of film editing' (good for analysing how use of software links to creativity). Question 1a - Planning an answer

Read the mark scheme for Question 1a and the student exemplar which achieved a high Level 4. Both are provided below.  D iscuss in pairs what makes the exemplar a Level 4. Using the exemplar as a basis for your own work, plan your response to the same question. Reflection Task

You will spend the next couple of lessons completing the following tasks to prepare you for discussing your coursework in terms of your exam.  Task 1: Create an exam blog that you will complete most homework, exam prep and exam responses on. Question 1A Prompts Task 2: Firstly, list all of the media products you have created since you joined Sixth Form, both in Media Studies, other subjects and at home. Re-read your AS and A2 blogs to remind you!
